What are some decorating ideas for a 9 year old boys room?

We just moved and are looking for a new fun way to decorate his room. It is his first time having his own room he had to share with his sister up until now. So this is new and exciting for him! Its hard because there are far less boys room decorating options out there. We dont want a charcter theme, he is “too old” for that. :) Thanks in advance for your ideas they are highly appreciated!
